Town Council
Arcadia is governed by a five-member Town Council with each member serving a four-year term. The Town Council serves as the legislative and policymaking body of the Town. They enact all laws and direct such action as required to provide for the general welfare of the community, translating the attitude and ideas of the citizens into municipal action to the end that desired levels of service are provided as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The Town Council establishes policy; adopts all Ordinances and Resolutions of the Town; reviews and adopts the annual operating budget; and maintains communications with citizens and other government agencies.
The Town Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Councils Chambers located at Arcadia City Hall, and minutes of all Council meetings that have taken place are available for public review in the Town Clerks office and are published in the Bienville Democrat newspaper.

Long time resident Bud is just starting his first term as Council Member for District number 1. Bud attended Grambling State University majoring in education and has been serving on the Arcadia Zoning Board

Maggie was appointed by the Mayor to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Charles Smith. She successfully ran for the position and served the last four years and is beginning her second full term.

Mattie is a life-long resident of Arcadia and has lived in District 4 for the past 26 years She retired from the Ruston Developmental Center in 2005 after 25 years of service. She is a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

E. J. is a life-long resident of Arcadia and is starting his first term as Councilman for District 5. He has been serving as chairman of the Arcadia Zoning Board/Board of Appeals. He's a graduate of Arcadia High School and Louisiana Tech. He's past president of The Arcadia Jaycees, past chairman of the Administrative Council of the First United Methodist Church of Arcadia and currently serving on the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee. E. J. has been a teacher for 22 years.
