Arcadia is governed by a
five-member Town Council with each member serving a four-year term. The
Town Council serves as the legislative and policymaking body of the
Town. They enact all laws and direct such action as required to provide
for the general welfare of the community, translating the attitude and
ideas of the citizens into municipal action to the end that desired
levels of service are provided as efficiently and effectively as
possible.
The Town Council
establishes policy; adopts all Ordinances and Resolutions of the Town;
reviews and adopts the annual operating budget; and maintains
communications with citizens and other government agencies.
The Town Council meetings
are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the
Councils Chambers located at Arcadia City Hall, and minutes of all
Council meetings that have taken place are available for public review
in the Town Clerks office and are published in the Bienville Democrat
newspaper.
